The first Upanishads were written 2500 to 2800 years ago and are based on what folks learned from “sitting alongside” unusually calm, radiant and wise people who hung out in the forest, meditating and exploring most directly, through the laboratory of their own bodies and mind, the nature of reality and existence.
The Peavine Upanishad is my own chronicling of sitting alongside such people and influences, since the late 1960s when I was first entering college. And, a “report” on what I have come to understand over the years.
My focus won’t be limited to any one particular Tradition. Instead, it’s primarily a discussion of the “non-dualistic’ orientation and of awakening from the dream of seperateness and from a life of basic suffering.
“Peavine” refers to Peavine Mountain, on the northern edge of Reno, Nevada, where I have lived since November 2005. (I am a retired psych nurse from California.)
