At their website (link above) you can find more information about their music, story, and cd’s.
The group was founded by two Reno natives, sisters Andrea and Sara Forman. I saw them perform at Wingfield Park in 2007, where I remember them describing their Catholic background and religion as well as their interest in esoteric and mystical traditions (including within their own tradition). These two sisters reportedly began chanting Sanskrit at a very young age, a story that is chronicled in a book by Linda Forman, Dreaming in Real Time, The Shanti Shanti Story.
You can listen to short samples of some of their music at their website.
Sitting, swaying, and dancing with Kitaro
July 14, 2008
As explained in the “About” page of this blog, these postings are about the people and influences I have “sat alongside” of and learned from (the basis for an “upanishad”). Kitaro is such a person and influence, for many, many years. Alan Watts (who died in 1973) used to say Kitaro’s music was from another realm of existence! Clearly. Just so.
The above video is a live performance of The Silk Road. There are many great selections of Kitaro’s music at YouTube.
